Join African Aspects Tours for a visit to Addo Elephant National Park, one of South Africa’s most loved National Parks, which also happens to be the third largest in the country.
Apart from the largest land mammal (and we will hopefully see Elephant in all sizes!) we could also be fortunate enough to spot some of the other Big-5 animals such as Buffalo and Lion.
Furthermore we have an opportunity to view soft game, such as a Kudu, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Ostrich, Zebra and everybody’s favourite – Warthogs.
The Park offers magnificent views, such as over Algoa Bay where it is possible to see St Croix Island, the home to the largest breeding colony of African Penguins anywhere in the world.
You will be picked up at your place of accommodation / port. After a short drive, passing various sites in and just on the outskirts of the City, we arrive at the Southern Entrance of the Park.
On this tour we will drive from the South through the length of the Park and end up for lunch at the Northern Entrance. There will also be time for a browse in the curio shop and a walk through the Educational Centre where it is possible to view the head of one of Addo’s most famous Elephants, Hapoor. If time allows we will pop back into the game area for a short drive before heading back to the city and dropping you off at your place of accommodation / port.
Please note: During the height of Summer (December to February) we prefer to enter the Park as early as possible as the days can become extremely hot. It is not unusual for the maximums to reach 40+degrees Celsius. However, later pick-ups can certainly be accommodated.
